Chilli Soya Chunks 

Hello beautiful Homemakers, today I am going to share a very quick and yummy receipe of Chilli soya chunks...During lockdown, when you can't go out  then you can prepare this recipe and enjoy your quarantine life.... It is basically prepared from soya chunks which is fried after coating it with cornflour and all purpose flour. I am sharing dry version of this recipe.. For gravy version please check cooking notes given below.

Here goes the recipe:

Ingredients:

Soya Chunks
1. Soya Chunks/Nutrela - 200gms
2. Cornflour - 1 tbspn
3. All purpose flour/ Maida - 3 tbspn
4. Salt - to taste
5. Oil - for frying
6. Egg - 1 for coating (optional) 

Gravy
1. Sliced Capsicum - 1 medium size
2. Sliced Onion - 1 medium size
3. Sliced Green Chillies - 2 to 3 (quantity varies as required) 
4. Finely chopped Ginger - 1 tbspn
5. Finely chopped Garlic - 1 tbspn
6. Soya Sauce - 1.5 to 2 tspn (Quantity varies as required) 
7. Tomato Sauce - 2 tspn (Quantity varies as required) 
8. Chilli Sauce - 1 tspn (Quantity varies as required) 
9. Cornflour - 1/2 tbspn mixed with 1 cup water 
10. Salt to taste
11. Oil - for cooking

Method:

1. Heat water in a pan and add soya chunks and put off the flame. 
2. After soaking soya chunks for 5 minutes, squeeze it to drain all its water. 
3. Now put squeezed soya chunks in a bowl and add cornflour,all purpose flour, egg and salt. Mix it well for proper coating and keep it aside for 5 minutes. 
4. Heat oil in a pan and fry marinated soya chunks till it turns light brown.
5. Heat oil in another pan and add ginger, garlic, green chillies and cook it on high flame for 2 minutes or till it turns light brown. 
6. After that add capsicum, onion and cook on high flame till it turns light brown. 
7. Now keep flame on low and add all sauces and salt to taste and mix it well to coat veggies. 
8. Then put cornflour water mix and soya chunks. 
9. Mix it well and turn flame on high and cook until dry. (See Notes for gravy version). 
10. Switch off the flame and your piping hot chilli soya chunks is ready to serve. 


Notes:
1. For gravy version, you can add  more water for desired gravy in step 8.
2. All vegetarian friends can skip the egg mixing step for soya chunks.
